Sunday Skin Hacks

A carefully planned Sunday is the best preparation for a productive week and your complexion should be no exception. Check out our best tips for getting your skin healthy and glowing for the week ahead!

HYDRATION

First things first. The skin contains 64% water, it’s essential for both your systemic and skin health.

It has a myriad of benefits and requires no effort, time or investment.

Just make sure you drink plenty.

I find that sticking a filter in the fridge helps me drink more and carrying a bottle about the place does the same.

Sipping on green tea while watching your Sunday Netflix series will help flush out the toxins from your body and accelerate the glow too- hydrated skin brings more life to your skin cells! If we are talking after a heavy Saturday evening too this is even more important!!

Sunday is the time when you can carve out some time for self-love and layer up your skin for the hard week ahead!

Grab your cleanser and don one of these active masks to give your skin some much needed hydration.

MEAL and SKIN plan ...

Beauty on the outside starts from the inside!

What you eat and drink can significantly affect your skin health.

Plan the bulk of your weekly meals and load up on antioxidant-packed goodies.

Fatty fish like salmon mackerel, and herring are excellent food for the skin, thanks to their abundance of omega-3 fatty acids.

It can also help reduce inflammation and soothe conditions like rosacea.

Walnuts are rich in zinc, which is essential for the skins lipid barrier

Bell peppers contain plenty of beta carotene and vitamin C, necessary to create collagen, one of the essential building blocks of the skin.

WORK IT OUT

Getting your heart rate up improves blood circulation and helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to your skin which keeps it healthy, promotes cell renewal and collagen production.

Working out also reduces stress levels, which we all know leads to breakouts.

Excess sweat can be negative for your skin too!

Sweat-clogged pores can lead to acne, backne and even butt-ne, so make sure you always shower right after working out or take a look at our acne shop section for skin changing home remedies - on the go!

Get outside and do a power walk but don't forget your SPF !!

Any movement is better than nothing ❤️

SLEEP

Beauty sleep isn’t just a cliché.

We don’t need to tell you, you’ve probably noticed how your skin looks after one day of suboptimal rest.

Take some time to plan your morning ahead on Sunday evening and spend some more time in bed in the morning.

When we sleep our cells repair and if it's been a heavy one we really need Sunday night to reset!

On that note that's me signing off for another week of skin solutions ...

Rest up- get up- glow up!
